Well kept grounds and nice environment
Shower block is tired and generally facilities need investment. The biggest let down is the “restaurant” which could offer so much more than it does. Its little more than a pizza take-away offering. I expect more from “5*”. The staff are pleasant but this campsite is trading of its past glories.

Lovely campsite with lots of trees. Nice swimming pools and playground, great facilities and nice animation. Staff is very friendly.
Just some few suggestions: - big shoe rack at the swimming pools (especially outdoors) - would be nice to grow some trees along the play ground to provide some shade. - lock on the door of the baby washing room (handy when you have 2 toddlers to bathe...) - rack in the shower cubicle of the private sanitair to put shampoo/douchegel on (especially when you have toddlers who like to open bottles)

We loved the chalet we stayed in by the lake. It was very peaceful and we had lovely views of the sunsets over the two lakes. The swimming pools were great and the kids loved swimming every day and going on the water slides! There were also lots of other great activities which we tried, including pony riding, the mini disco and the games evening.

It would have been better if the windows in the bedrooms opened upwards so that we could have the windows open at night time, without fear of the kids climbing or falling out. We had to keep the bedroom windows closed because of this which meant that the nights were very hot and airless!

The area around the camp site is wonderful - great Chateaux’s, lovely vineyards in Sancerre and Briare is really nice. The lake on site is great to paddle board.
Arrival - chaos, 2 people before us yet as the septic tank was being emptied it was a disorganised joke. Cleanliness - the campsite is dirty, the pool developed a scum line all around the side of the pool and the indoor pool had too much chlorine in the jacuzzi - so much so I couldn’t catch my breath. Service at the bar rubbish - food poor quality and expensive, staff didn’t have a clue how to run a bar. This isn’t a 5* campsite, at best it’s a 3* The owner works hard but she is too short staffed. The showers are dirty and this is not due to the number of people as we have been to busier site

Dirty under a tree full of SAP and a pigeon nest so we were kept awake every. Night - plus we were told be be quiet after 11pm even though we were talking quietly outside our motorhome. Unable to get our trailer on the 1st pitch so kept at reception which was fine but on the day before departure told the staff were too busy to help us push the trailer back to our pitch., really unhelpful and lack of care. We thought looking after clients should be 100% priority but not here. This site doesn’t deserve to be a Les Castels site - it doesn’t meet the standard of other sites in the group

You had booked a 100m² Classic pitch because the 180m² Comfort pitches, with a water hookup, were no longer available during your reservation. Upon your arrival, you walked to your pitch to check if your camper, trailer, and car could fit, and you realized that the water service was not available on this category of pitch. We checked the availability of Comfort pitches to change your reservation, but unfortunately, they were all already booked. You chose to leave your trailer in the proposed parking space, and our receptionist stayed with you to assist in unloading your car from the trailer before heading to your pitch. This process took some time, but we did our best to assist you. The owner confirmed that the trailer could remain in the parking lot, and you left it there throughout your stay. This choice gave you more comfort, but we regret that you decided to move your trailer to your pitch only the day before your departure. This could have been better organized by scheduling an appointment with a technician. That Sunday afternoon, our technicians were already attending to other tasks and couldn't respond to your request immediately. Regarding the pitch, you requested to change it due to the noise from the birds. We reorganized the reservations to allow you to move to a different spot, and we hope this change improved your comfort. As for the maintenance of the pool, we intensified our efforts during the heatwave to maintain optimal conditions. We are sorry that you experienced any inconvenience. We hope that despite these inconveniences, you still have some good memories and that you find a campsite more suited to your expectations for your future vacations. Large pitch, private space. Good planting and hedging. After initial poor reception was helped to pitch and had a more friendly response.
Initial reception a bit brusque and unfriendly. We are on holiday so first impression and initial contact is important. Pitch was very private, however late first evening around 10pm a member of staff with dog walked into and across our pitch (possibly as a shortcut?) having visited a relative in an adjacent pitch. This was while we were sat out after our meal. Very rude, unnecessary, and a little frightening. My first thought was a possible thief.
