Castellane (altitude 720m) is situated in Haute-Provence, at the crossroads of the magnificent Gorges du Verdon (Parc Naturel Régional du Verdon) and the Route Napoléon. It is a calm tourist centre and enjoying the benefits of the Provençal climate. Camping Notre-Dame is bordered by a small stream and is only 600 m from the village. The site is flat and well shaded, having a quiet family atmosphere, providing free hot showers (24 hours a day), small shop and a variety of mobile-homes to rent. ... Castellane itself offers many shops and a supermarket, a large heated swimming-pool, tennis courts, rafting, kayaking, canyonning and fishing in the Verdon river. At the lake of Castillon, a mere 5kms up a splendid hill, one can sail, windsurf and swim. In addition, there is hiking, horse riding, mountain biking and climbing in the Gorges du Verdon. Owner was welcoming and attentive. He was very helpful and suggested rides in the area. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Walking distance of vibrant town centre. I would happily stay here again.

Our pitch was under the shade and it was huge and more than enough for our campervan. We had electricity so there was no need to use our solar Panels. There is also the option to have a place not so shady in order to use your panels and not have electricity.

De l’accueil au logement en lui même (mobilhome) tout a été parfait. Le propriétaire a été attentif à nos demandes qu’il a satisfait, et nous a en plus fourni de bons conseils pour visiter la région. Le camping est calme et très agréable, à proximité de la ville. Je recommande et j’y retournerai avec grand plaisir

Nous séjournons au camping chaque année depuis 7 ans. Le camping et les toilettes sont extrêmement propres. Le propriétaire nous aide à trouver le bon endroit en fonction de nos besoins (camping-car, tente, panneaux solaires, etc.). Chaque année, nous constatons une amélioration des équipements et des services. C'est un endroit calme non loin du centre du village. On ne peut pas demander plus et on ne peut pas trouver quelque chose de négatif à mentionner.

Cette année, nous sommes venus avec une tente et une camionnette. Le propriétaire nous a aidés à trouver un endroit ombragé, plat bien sûr, qui pouvait répondre à nos besoins. Nous avions l'électricité, un emplacement pour la voiture et suffisamment de place pour une table de camping et deux chaises. Il y avait aussi assez de place pour notre chien et nous pouvions aussi repositionner la table d'un autre côté si le soleil nous gênait. Nous pouvions également suspendre nos vêtements mouillés et disposer d'un endroit pour cuisiner. Tout cela dans notre espace sans déranger les voisins. Fantastiq
