Love coming to Paille Basse; friendly staff, clean amenities and lovely location. The pool is nice and the activities are pitched just right, allowing you to join in if you wish, watch the fun or just carry on relaxing on your sunbed. Evening entertainment is great, particularly the music concerts, with a range of things. The amenities seemed extra clean and well stocked this year (well done to cleaning staff!). Perfectly located to visit the caves at Lascaux and Sarlat.

As with previous trips to this site, the facilities and staff were fantastic. We ate at the restaurant and also bought take away pizzas one evening from the shop/bar - Both were excellent. The pool is still top notch, and was an absolute godsend in the 40 degree heat!

This was a great pitch; level with shade and easy access to water and electrics. The pool and other facilities were only a short walk away, as was the chalet that the rest of my family were staying in - thank you for arranging this.

Clean, comfortable accommodation. Excellent activities and pool for teenagers (and younger children). Beautiful spot, surrounded by woods for walks, bike rides etc….. The location of the mobile home was great, the mobile home was comfortable and had all basic necessities. The campsite had good amenities and nice activities for kids.
The camping is quite far from the nearest town, requiring a car to get there.

Lots for kids to do, safe, nice pools which are well maintained. Nice atmosphere and reception and staff are friendly.
Expensive so toilets and showers should be cleaner. They don't seem to be cleaned thoroughly. Bar, food and restaurant are very expensive. Can be very noisy late into the night due to entertainment in the bar. Live music is really good but the other shows are only good for French speakers.

La Paille Basse excels at relaxation! From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, everything is designed to make your stay a pleasant & happy one. Yes this time we’re staying ‘out of season’ and it’s blissfully quiet but we have also stayed in the height of the season and still found the site to be extremely well organised with generous level pitches and an excellent range of clean facilities. Staff are very helpful and can speak several languages which helps but if like me you’re here to improve your French they’ll help you do that too. I can not recommend this site enough to you.

Great swimming pool ideal for adults and children alike, but no sun beds or chairs, large level pitches, water and electric good, helpful friendly staff.
We appreciate we were end of season but the cleanliness of the showers left a lot to be desired, the tile floors were thick with brown slime as were the cubicle panels obviously a full seasons worth of congealed soap and grime. Regular cleaning did not appear to happen as empty shampoo bottles were left on the floor for several days. Water extremely hot it taking several minutes before becoming cool enough to shower safely. The rubbish bins were a very long way away if based at the bottom of the site, nearly a kilometre!

Beautiful setting, very well looked after washing facilities, brilliant entertainment for adults and children. Remi, in particular, was a great host for the children.
The condition of the sports area (football, tennis, volleyball etc) was poor (eg the volleyball net was torn and well used and the tennis court fence needed repairs/upgrading. It felt as though it hadn’t been looked after for some time.

Our kids love the pools, water slides and the playground. We have been before and they begged us to come back. We all loved the great food from the snack bar, the variety of evening entertainment and the friendly, helpful staff.
The lightbulbs in our chalet weren’t LED and so got very hot.

The covered veranda was great for eating outside. A well equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher, made it easy to eat in if we wanted to. Warm duvets and comfortable beds.
The main bedroom had very little room to move around. We had to walk sideways like a crab at the end of the bed. I would also have liked more space to hang clothes rather than lots of cupboards.

Use to come here with our kids, it was perfect for them.. We escaped UK as soon as Covid rules relaxed and came back after 13 years as a couple absolutely still loved it.. Restaurant has upped their game, food well prepared and presented. Also there is a now a separate snack bar. Great for families. Our kids really envious so we're all planning to come back next year!
