Our campsite is situated at 10 mn from Carcassone and its famous Medieval City, at 2 kms from the Canal du Midi (in Trèbes), at 50 mn from the first beaches of Mediterranean. The campiste La Commanderie allows you to enjoy a breath of fresh air in the heart of nature in a region rich in history, in the Cathar country.

The establishment
I think it’s our 6th or 7th time of staying here - and it’s still just as lovely. The owners/staff are friendly and helpful. The pitches are spacious and secluded and the atmosphere is very peaceful and relaxing. There is entertainment a few nights per week but if you are not into that sort of thing, it doesn’t encroach into your evening and all is done by 11pm at the latest. Everyone who stays seems to be quiet at night and you can easily sleep in till 9am and not be disturbed. The local area is beautiful and no road noise. Further afield there is plenty to see and do.

We loved the fact that you can cycle along the canal to Carcassonne. Which avoids all traffic and parking issues.
After a long day cycling we were looking forward to a swim. Unfortunately the pool was closed with no explanation ??.

Lovely campsite, great pitches, quiet, food and early morning bread available. Easy access to motorway, Carcassonne and beyond. Supermarche close and large Leclerc within a couple of kilometres. If you are interested in history there is a local guide who takes you on a history and tour of Rustique, well worth doing , no charge but a small donation to the museum is well worth doing. We enjoyed our week.
470 euro hold on mastercard for potential damage to chalet and cleaning. Let's be honest, you don't pay this amount of money and travel so far to rip off a holiday chalet.. The female management on site could have been more friendlier, it doesn't cost anything and when asked when leaving, being told to get out by 10 and on returning keys, no merci for your stay, bon journee, indeed absolutely nothing was a disappointing response. Rest of staff very friendly. Noted similar report elsewhere.

Lovely site, washing machine, dish washer - never used, air conditioning - excellent, bathroom.
Reported bathroom door not working within hour of arrival, never fixed. If you forgot you had to shout or climb out window. Bedroom area needs more lights. Odd shape. Floor requires reinforcement in places.

Great pool and very spacious pitches. We weren’t able to choose our pitch and sadly it was overlooked on all sides. One of the shower blocks on the site is fabulous, the one nearest to us was completely insufficient for the amount of people wishing to use it! However, the site was clean and well kept and there is a bar with food open every day. We were not able to use our gas bbq, as they are banned on this campsite which meant we had to do all our cooking in the caravan - not ideal in the Summer heat. The site is indeed very convenient for visiting Carcassonne, and we would stay again.
One of the toilet blocks was way too small. There weren’t many people when we arrived, but we were still allocated a pitch a d not allowed to choose one ourselves. Our pitch was probably the most public one on the campsite, shame as we prefer something more private and tranquil, of which there were many!

No privacy on our pitch, and 6 amps was barely enough when we had to use the electricity for cooking (no bbq’s allowed) the fuses were tripping all the time when trying to cook a meal.

Camping propre, espaces verts entre les emplacements. Piscine grande et simple mais superbement orienté vers la vallée ! Ce n est pas un camping comme en bord de mer, il est moins frou-frou. Arrive début septembre en couple, les clients étaient pour la plupart retraités. Quel calme !!! Juste le chant des oiseaux ! Notre mobilhom (de 2008) était parfaitement propre, très très bien entretenu. L emplacement du camping est top. A 3 kilomètres de Trebes et sa place « restos » à côté du canal du midi, 10 minutes de la citée de Carcassonne, je recommande vivement !

Comme écrit plus haut : de 2008 oui. Mais parfaitement entretenu ! Pensez à prendre vos draps mais à part cela rien a dire. Calme, entouré de verdure, demandez le 41 !
